The paragraph this quote comes from begins: “For an unknown reason — tradition, perhaps — sometime between two and four in the afternoon seems to be the usual hour for a holiday dinner.” Vogue does not like this.
And you know what? I’m on board with this one. I’m usually either famished by the time an odd-hour holiday dinner rolls around or not as ready for it as I’d like to be because I had a little something for lunch.
This year, we’re having dinner at 5:00, and I am thrilled about it! But I encourage all preferred traditions, so if you like your Thanksgiving meal at 2:00, by all means, carry on.
