On Being Polite to Impolite People

Khalil Gibran quote

I’ve been thinking about this quote a lot lately as I had an encounter recently where I was extremely polite to someone, but they misunderstood me and replied in a very rude fashion. It was really hard to reply back in a civil manner, but I did it (albeit, perhaps a little coolly). I really do think rudeness is rarely the answer.

Btw, Khalil Gibran, born in 1883, is a Lebanese poet, writer and artist who is the third best-selling poet ever. (Shakespeare is the first.) Just a little trivia tidbit to keep in your back pocket.
